Bidwell died at his home of Bright’s disease, after a long illness. Mr. Bidwell was a former resident of Danby and was a highly respected citizen who leaves many friends there as well as in this village, who join the family in sympathy. Mr. Bidwell was born in Richland, Indiana, September 12, 1848. He came to Sebewa when 12 years of age and moved to Danby two years later and has resided in this vicinity since that time. He was united in marriage to Lillian Rice on May 12, 1877. Three children have been born to them, two dying in infancy. He was converted 41 years ago in a prayer meeting and soon after united with the M. E. church, where he has filled every official position in the church and has always been found faithful in his trust. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father and leaves, besides a widow and son, Lee Bidwell, four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Hubbs, Mrs. Adelia Richey, Mrs. Sarah Ingalls, Mrs. Millie Towner, and two brothers, Jasper and Marion Bidwell, besides a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at the home on Friday at 10:00 and at the Compton church at 11:00. Burial at Danby cemetery.—Mulliken News.
