Ionia Sentinel Standard – 16 September 1965
A Sheridan man, Ernie Bidwell, 59, collapsed and died suddenly at 115 pm 
Wednesday at his work a Dow Smith.  He had returned to work Monday after a two 
month layoff.  Coroner, Dale Kauffman, who investigated, said death was due to 
a coronary occlusion.  Mr. Bidwell resided at 501 East Grand Street in 
Sheridan where he had been a resident five years.  He previously lived in 
Stanton and Germfask.

He is survived by his wife, the former Hilda Mackie to whom he was married in 
1949; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Dragone and Mrs. Earl Hall of Dearborn and 
Mrs. Katherine Shay of Germfask; two sons, Richard Bidwell of route one, 
Sheridan and David of Pawtucket, RI.; 13 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. 
Jessie Blake of Stanton.

Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 pm at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan 
with burial at Forest Hill cemetery in Stanton.  The Rev. George Goss of 
Trinity Bible church of Stanton will officiate.
