Ionia Standard – 2 February 1906
A telephone message at 9 Monday evening to Fred Bilow, announced the death of 
his daughter Mamie, in Butterworth hospital, Grand Rapids.  Deceased was aged 
17 years, and was a lovable girl with a wide circle of friends in Ionia, which 
city has always been her home. She had been ill quite a while and was taken to 
Grand Rapids, with an operation for tumor in view. The grief-stricken father, 
who only returned from the bedside of the sick (rest was missing.)
