Mr. Bielow, a resident of Ionia for many years, had been seriously ill about three weeks, according to relatives. He was born in Germany September 14, 1860, and came to United States in the year 1884, and resided in Ionia. For five years he made his home in Petoskey, coming back to Ionia where he lived until about three years ago when he moved to Detroit. While in Ionia he was employed as a carpenter and worked in the Pere Marquette shops until 1922. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church here, and . . . [missing words] . . .that church in Detroit. His wife, Catharine, preceded him in death. Surviving him are three children, ?? Bielow, Miss Henrietta Bielow and Theodore Bielow of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Maria Schroeder and Mrs. Augusta Warnke of Ionia; several nieces and nephews and one grandchild. The late Carl Bielow of Ionia was a brother. Funeral services are to be held from the Ionia St. John’s Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, February 22, at 3 o’clock with the Rev. R.A. Rook officiating. Interment will be made in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
