Aug. 30, 2013 BELDING- Edward Clifford Bignall, 76, of Belding, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born in Saginaw, the son of Kenneth and Rose (Griffin) Bignall, both of whom preceded him in death. Ed graduated from Saranac High School, then joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country from 1959 to 1962. He worked in several capacities at Steelcase, retiring with more than 30 years of service. Ed enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time visiting with family and friends. Ed leaves behind those to cherish his memory, which are his children, Donald (Lisa Wireman) Bignall of Belding, Melissa Bignall of Grand Rapids, Jacob Bignall and Eric Bignall both of Michigan; grandchildren, Lisa (Devin Pepper) Bignall, Donald "DJ" Bignall, Kevin (Angie) Seely, Kara Seely, Kyle (Ashley Danman) Seely and Bryce Bignall; great-grandchildren, Karissa, Abigail, Cole, Kayden and Izabela; several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald. A military honors service will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St. in Belding, with the Belding VFW Honor Guard officiating. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service, beginning at 4 p.m. Those planning on expression of sympathy are welcome to consider a memorial contribution in Edwards' memory to the benefit of family. Private interment services will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
