Ionia County News, 25 Jan 1927

Mrs. Alice R. Bignell, 67, well known resident of Ronald township, passed away
at her home, near Palo, Saturday afternoon, following a stroke suffered at 5
o’clock that day.  She had been a resident of the county 40 years with 37 years
spent in Ronald and three years at Smyrna.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 from the late residence and 10
o’clock from the Palo Community church with Rev. N.D. Potter in charge.  A.E.
Stebbins of Ionia is the officiating undertaker, and interment will be made at
the Smyrna cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Ellis Bignell, of Palo, and two brothers, J.S.
Palmer of Sebewaing and E.J. Palmer of Mt. Clemens, and one granddaughter.
