The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, November 14, 1957

Claude E. Bignell, 76, of Palo, died Wednesday at the Weedmark nursing home in 
Sheridan where he had been a patient for about a week.  Prior, he was 
hospitalized in Sheridan and had made his home with his sister-in-law, Mrs. 
Ellis Bignell in Palo.

Born June 17, 1886 in Smyrna, his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bignell.  
Mr. Bignell had made his home at Palo and Hubbardston most of his life.  
Surviving are three nephews, Wilbur Bignell of Palo and Ellis H. Bignell and 
James Bignell of Ionia.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the 
Methodist church, Palo.  Interment will be in the Palo cemetery.  The body 
will be at the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan until time of the services.
