Ionia Standard, Friday, March 29 1918
Howard E. Bignell, 26 years old, died of pneumonia at Pontiac on Saturday, and 
the body was brought here Monday and taken to the home of his mother near 
Palo.  The first notice of the death came on Saturday from his brother Ellis 
at Pontiac.  Besides the mother and brother he leaves a wife and daughter and 
two half-brothers.

Additional Comments:
Additional:  Rev. Salyer of Palo conducted the funeral service for Howard 
Bignell who died Saturday at the City Hospital in Pontiac, at the Palo Baptist 
Church at 2:0 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.  The bearers were Ralph Baker, Frank 
VanVleck, Robert Howe, Jay Heath, Luther Martin and Elden Kendall.  Burial was 
in Palo cemetery.
