The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, March 30, 1944
Mrs. Eva E. Bignell, 84, died Wednesday evening at the home of her nephew, 
Ellis Bignell, of Palo.  She was born July 25, 1859, in Oakland county and in 
1900 was married to Charles V. Bignell.  Mr. Bignell died in 1917.  Mrs. 
Bignell had been a resident of Palo and vicinity for the past 35 years.  She 
was a member of the Methodist church of Palo and the Lady Maccabees.

She is survived by two step-sons, Lawrence Bignell and Ross Bignell, of Grand 
Rapids.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Palo 
Methodist church.  Burial will be in Smyrna cemetery.
