He was born on January 26, 1934 in Ionia, the son of Claude Elmer and Edith Pauline (Dreger) Bigsby. Mr. Bigsby loved to fish and was a great enthusiast of archery, receiving many marksmanship awards. He always had a smile on his face. Claude was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine in 1987; brother, Donald; sister, Dorothy. Surviving are his step-daughters, Rachel Richardson of Florida and Carolyn Arnette of Belding; six step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Bigsby of Arlington, TX; sister, Alma (Donald) Barr of Muir; five nieces and three nephews; many great nieces, nephews and friends; special friends Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stone. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. David W. Bogda, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Ionia at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia.
