Billings, who died at his home in this village Monday evening, November 14, after being in failing health for more than a year, and who suffered greatly the past few weeks. Daniel Webster Billings was born in St. Lawrence county, N.Y., June 2, 1842, and departed this life November 14, 1921, aged 79 years, 5 months 12 days. He came to Michigan in 1862 stopping in Kalamazoo county, where he enlisted in Co. E, 25th Michigan Vol., in July of that year and served until the end of the war. On April 16, 1885, he was united in marriage to Marion Edwards, and to them was born one daughter, Mrs. Alfred E. Faxon of Cleveland, Ohio, who with the widow and two sons, D.W. Billings of Tacoma, Wash., and Silas Billings of Iowa, and a daughter, Mrs. Garner Smith of Muir, are left to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held from the home this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease of the local M.E. church. Interment in Lyons cemetery.
