August 22, 1889 FRANK BILZ Frank Bilz, proprietor of the malt house, died at his residence on Dexter street Tuesday morning, aged 55 years. For a number of years Mr. Bilz was a prosperous brewer at Detroit, where he built and conducted the brewery now owned by Eckert & Becker. He removed from that city to Canada and came here from the dominion about nine years ago. He was for several years foreman of Endres' brewery, and about a year ago established the malt house which he has since conducted. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. W. Wirdmaier of Detroit, and has a brother Aloys Bilz at Spring lake. The funeral will be attended from his late residence, on Dexter street, at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The interment will be at Highland Park. Ionia sentinel-Thurs. Aug. 29, 1889 FUNERAL OF FRANK BILZ The funeral of Frank Bilz was attended from his late residence on Dexter street Thursday afternoon, the bearer being brother Masons. The interment was at Highland Park. Two sisters, Mrs. T. R. Williams and Mrs. Barbara Schiffhauer, of Buffalo. Aloys Bilz, of Spring Lake, brother, and Mrs. Wm. Weidmaier, of Detroit, daughter, were in attendance, and returned to their homes Thursday evening. Mr. Aloys Bilz had not seen his sisters before for many years.
