Nov. 24, 2018 Rev. Gordon Faye Binns SUNFIELD,MI. - Rev. Gordon Faye Binns, age 90, of Sunfield, died October 27, 2018 at home with his family. Gordon was born in Eaton County on August 18, 1928 to Orville and Dorothy (Rathfoot) Binns. He graduated from Portland High School, Michigan State University and Owosso Bible College with degrees in education, social work and bible studies. Gordon taught at Grand Ledge and Lakewood schools and was a social worker for Ionia County. He pastored Woodbury United Brethren Church, Sunfield Brethren Church, associate pastor in Ruskin, Fl. and Volunteered at Honey Creek Home. Gordon enjoyed traveling to Alaska eight times, Spartan teams, family, friends, reading and being a faithful member of Hope Brethren Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Rachel (Lippincott) Binns and Beverly (Boyer) Binns; brothers, Dale, Donald and Maurice; and his nephew, James Binns. Surviving is his wife, Mary Esther; daughter, Paige (Rev. Tom) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Huffman and Elizabeth (Andres) Hassler, all of Harrisonburg, Virginia; grandchildren, Thomas (Tiffany ) Smith II and Joseph Smith, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren; step-children, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sisters and brother-in-law. We will all miss him. He is with his Lord, Jesus Christ. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at Hope Brethren Church, 14275 92nd St., S.E. Freeport, MI. 49325 (on M-50 West of Lake Odessa), with Rev. Ike Porter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Brethren Church, Freeport, or Great Lakes Hospice, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, Mi. The family is being served by Barker-Leik Funeral home, Mulliken, Mi.
