Hastings Reminder 4 April 1995
Edith Audrey Bippley, 88 of Lake Odessa passed away on Friday, March 31, 1996 
at Thornapple Manor in Hastings.  She was born on December 8, 1906 in Sebewa 
Township, the daughter of Leon and Mable (Cook) Williams.  She was married to 
Donald Bippley on November 24, 1938 in Vermontville; he preceded her in death 
on April 13, 1990.  Mrs. Bippley taught school in the Lake Odessa area for 32 
years, retiring from Lakewood Public School in 1971.

She was a member of the Sebewa Baptist Church, Michigan Education Association 
and the National Education Association. She was also preceded in death by four 
sisters, Myrtle Childs, Iva Reed, Mildred Ingall and Bernice Bulling; two 
brothers, Claude and Gerald Williams.  Survivors are one daughter, Terry 
Gleason of Lowell; one son, Don (Mary) Bippley of Lake Odessa, five 
grandchildren, William, Anthony, Anna, Susan and Michael; two great 
grandchildren, Andrew and Lizanne; one sister-in-law, Ruby Williams of Lake 
Odessa.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, 1:30 pm at the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa with Reverend Dick Cross officiating.  Interment 
will be at Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
Alzheimer’s Association.
