FUNERAL AT M. E. CHURCH TUESDAY P. M. -------------- For forty-five years George Bippley was a resident of Odessa township and a familiar figure on the streets of Lake Odessa, where he was well known by all the business men as well as a large acquaintance of the township. For the past seen years the family have been residents of Ionia, going there when Mr. Bippley's health began to fail. The funeral was largely attended by many relatives and friends Tuesday afternoon here after a short service at their home in Ionia. ------------- Obituary George Albert Bippley was born to John and Hannah Bippley, March 14, 1875 in Odessa township, Ionia county, Michigan and departed this life November 26th, 1927 at the age of 52 years, 8 months, 12 days.. He was married to Mary Ella Pickens, daughter of Mr. ad Mrs. T. J. Pickens, December 5, 1900. To this union were born , Beatrice Leone, John W. and Marjorie Christine, all of which survive to mourn their loss. Two brothers, F. J. and W. H. Bippley of Lake Odessa and one grandchild survive him. He also leaves a large circle of friends He spent the greater part of his life as a farmer near the place of his birth, but because of ill health left the farm and moved to Ionia the fall of 1920. Since that time he has been a great sufferer from a complication of diseases. He has always been a faithful, kind and loving husband and father, and to others was ever ready to lend the helping hand. He was a member of the Lake Odessa Lodge No. 395 F. & A. M. and the Acient Order of Gleaners. The funeral was held Tuesday at Central Methodist church, Rev. O. F. Bulman giving the sermon and a male quartette composed of Wm. and Leon Gilson, George Kart and Merlin Morgan sang, accompanied by Mrs. Leon Gilson. The Masonic order had charge of the services at the grave at Lakeside cemetery.
