April 12, 1929 BEATRICE BIPPLEY Lake Odessa was saddened on Thursday when news came of the death of Miss Beatrice Bippley, of Ionia, one of the much loved young women who spent her early life in this vicinity. Miss Bippley was born near Lake Odessa in 1902. She graduated from the Lake Odessa high school with the 1920 class and taught several successful terms of school in Ionia county. She later took a business course at Ferris Institute. Of late she has been employed n the Fidelity dry goods, now V and R. store of Ionia though often expressed a desire to return to teaching where her interests really were. Several weeks ago she accidentally scratched her arm with a pin and from this abrasion blood poison developed, and later erysipelas. She nearly recovered from this, and was able to return to her duties at the store, but a recurrence of the illness caused her to go to bed again. No one considered her condition serious and only Wednesday her condition indicated every reason to believe that she was decidedly better. Thursday morning she was taken with a sinking spell, and died shortly after the arrival of her physician. She was a member of the Methodist church and order of Eastern Star. She always exemplified the Christ-like teachings of the church and the fraternal order in her sweet Christian character. She leaves her mother, Mrs.Ella Bippley; a brother, John Bippley; a sister, Mrs.Edward Kress, all of Ionia; also her aged grandparents, Mr and Mrs.T.J.Pickens. The funeral services were conducted from the Stebbins funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. W.F. Kendrick. The interment was in Lake Side cemetery, Lake Odessa Additional Comments: Lakeside Cem.#9-1114-3 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/b/bippley43737nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
