Former Resident Dies at Battle Creek

Frank Birchard, 87, of Battle Creek and former resident passed away Monday night 
at a Battle Creek hospital. A native of Plainwell, he was well known in the 
local areas as he was affiliated with the local Citizens Telephone Company for a 
number of years. He later owned and operated an implement company at 
Clarksville.

Mr. Birchard was a life member of the Clarksville F & AM. No 451.

Surviving are his wife, the former Alda Sandine of Cadillac, a daughter 
Mrs.Harry (Edna) Walker of Midland; several grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild and five step-children.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Royal Funeral Home at Battle Creek
with graveside services at the Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa at 2:45 p.m. under 
the auspices of the Clarksville F & AM
