Ionia Sentinel, 14 Jan 1947

Samuel Bird, 76, dairy farmer in Belding, died at his home on East M-44 at 1:30 
a.m. Tuesday morning. 

Mr. Bird was a native of Cork county, Ireland.  He and Mrs. Bird came to the 
United States in 1909 and moved to Belding in 1929 from a farm at Lakeview.  He 
was a member of the Central Methodist church, the East Otisco Farmers club and 
a former Grange member.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Harriet Bird; five sons, Jesse of Ozone, 
Tenn., Wilfrid, Richard, George, all of Belding, and James of Wausau, 
Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. Maida Lincoln of Greenville and Mrs. Louise 
Boldt of Royal Oak; fourteen grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Atkins 
of Bandon, County Cork, Ireland.
