Heart failure was the immediate cause of death. In 1866 Mr. Bishop was united in marriage to Miss Francis Harris, of Ontario, Wayne County, New York. They came to Hubbardston in 1870 and since then this vicinity has been their home. The widow and three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Dailey, Misses Lottie and Jessie Bishop, and three sisters Mrs. Elizabeth Whitney of Nebraska, Mrs. A. S. Harris of Hubbardston and Mrs. Charles Knapp of Walworth, New York, mourn the loss of a kind husband, father and brother. Mr. Bishop enjoyed a wide acquaintance and was highly respected. As a neighbor and friend he was charitable to a fault. For many years he had been a member of Hubbardston Lodge No. 3, A. O. U. W. A large concourse of friends attended the funeral services which were held at the residence, Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, conducted by Rev. F. A. Brass and the burial took place at Hubbardston. Many beautiful floral pieces were offered.
