Noah Bishop, an old and respected resident of Easton township, died very suddenly Friday night at 11:30 o’clock of heart failure. He was conversing and without warning was stricken and expired immediately. Mr. Bishop was a brother of Mrs. Wm. C. Booker, of this city, was 70 years old, and a member of Wm. H. Borden Post, G.A.R., of Ionia. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Easton church. W.G. Meach and wife, were in attendance from this city. Deceased was born in New York State in 1822, being 77 years of age. Coming to Michigan in 1836, he went to work on an Oakland county farm, and in 184? was married to Miss Ellen Madison. In 1848 they settled on the farm now owned by R. McKendry. His wife died but a short time ago and they had no children. Mr. Bishop was a well known, and respected citizen of the county, and was a prominent member of the M.E. church. He enlisted in September186? in Co. E. First Engineers and Mechanics, and served three years with honor to his country and credit to himself.
