Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Vivian I. Bishop, 74, of Ionia passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 in Lowell.

She was born Feb. 20, 1927 in Portland, the daughter of Jason and Minnie 
(Barnard) Smalley.  She married Fred Bishop Feb. 17, 1972 in Ionia.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Bishop of Ionia; children, Rex Leland 
(Sandee Solomon) of Tennessee and Carol (Jim) Tower of Rockford; step-children, 
Frederick (Amanda) Bishop of Round Hill, Ky., Sally May of Wyoming, Julie 
Bishop of Kalamazoo and Connie Bishop of Fenwick; sisters, Barbara (Don) Cook 
and Geri (John) Griffin; 10 grandchildren, Eric Leland, Kerre Leland, Joe 
(Jamie) May, Jason May, Matt May (Kensey Doolittle) Andy Tower (Jennifer 
Totten), Carissa Bishop (John Spoelman), Chandler Bishop (Kelly Leep), Nick 
Bishop and Samantha Bishop; and great-grandchild, Kayla Spoelman.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  
Interment Tuttle Cemetery.  Visitation is 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday and 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Hospice of Michigan.
