Bishop, 63, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 7, at Pennock hospital where he had been a patient for five day with a heart ailment. A native of Allegan county he was the son of Myron and Orpha Bishop and had been a resident here for 38 years coming here from Richland. He purchased the dairy business of Alhe Tolies and in 1920 added the ice business which he operated until the business was discontinued in 1943. He sold the dairy to hie brother, Charles bishop 10 years before he sold the ice business. At the time of his death he was a building engineer at the Keller Brass Co. where he had been employed for about five years. Mr. Bishop was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. Surviving are his wife, Leafy, one daughter, Mrs Kenneth (Gloria) Swift; one son, Merl of Grand Rapids, an employee of the Peoples National bank for 20 years, one sister, Mrs. Inez Pillips of Dewitt; five brothers, Hubert of Battle Creek, Charles and Percy of Allegan, Lloyd of Kalamazoo and William of Coloma and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 at the Pickens funeral chapel with burial in Lakeside cemetery. Rev. A. J. Pitman officiated.
