Bissell, 72, of 510 South Clinton street was found dead at her home in St. Johns Sunday morning by her son Marvin Bissell. According to the Clinton county medical examiner, death occurred late Friday night. She was born in Chatsworth, Ill. January 6, 1904, the daughter of Edward Melvin. She spent the last 30 years in St. Johns. She was formerly of Pewamo where she graduated from the Pewamo high school and taught rural Pewamo school. She married Lloyd D. Bissell in Ionia. He preceded her in death in 1945. Surviving are one son, Marvin, of St. Johns; three grandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Edith Melvin of St. Johns; two sisters Mrs. Estelle Fox of St. Johns and Esther Durmin of Carson City; one brother Charles Melvin of Muir. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Osgood funeral home in St. Johns. Burial will be at the East Plains cemetery.
