The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, March 14, 1983

Iva Mae Bissell, 90, 243 State St., Pewamo, died early Sunday morning in the 
Carson City Hospital after a long illness.  She was born November 15, 1892, in 
Lyons Township, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Townsend.  She was married 
to Joseph Bissell in Ionia in 1915.  He preceded her in death in October 
1976.  She had lived on the family farm since 1915.

She is survived by 2 sons, Clell and Harry Bissell of Pewamo; one daughter, 
Mrs. Vada Sturm of Lyons; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Walters of Grand Rapids; 
14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hull Memorial Chapel 
with the Rev. Byron Coleman, Lyons United Methodist Church, officiating.  
Burial will be in East Plains Cemetery.
