The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, February 22, 1954
Mrs. Frances Bissell, 83, of Pewamo, died at her home at 6 a.m. Sunday, 
February 21.  She had been in ill health since an eye operation in 1950.  She 
was born April 6, 1870 in Berlin township, Ionia county, the daughter of 
Joseph and Lucy Crane.  In 1888 she was married to Clarence Dorr Bissell of 
Pewamo, and moved to their farm home a mile north of Pewamo where she lived 
until her death.  Mr. Bissell preceded her in death in March 1926.

She is survived by one son, Joe Bissell and one daughter, Mrs. Eric Gee, both 
of Pewamo; five grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.  Another 
daughter, Lucy, died in June 1913.

Funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eric Gee of 
Pewamo, Wednesday at 2 o’clock.   Interment will be at East Plains cemetery.
