Mrs. D. W. Bissell, of Pewamo, died at St. Mary’s hospital in Grand Rapids 
Tuesday, May 16th.  She had been ill at her home for three months and was 
taken to the hospital to undergo an operation, which resulted in her death.  

Mrs. Bissell was formerly Mary Simon, a daughter of the late Burkhart Simon.  
She was born in Napoleon, Mich., 48 years ago, but spent much of her early 
life in this vicinity.

Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s church in Pewamo.  Those who 
attended from here were Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Fineis, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Simon, 
Mrs. George Fineis, Mrs. Joseph Meyers and Mrs. Anthony Leik.

Mrs. E. M. Fineis is a sister and John M. Simon a brother of deceased.
