The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, June 26, 1961


Funeral service for Mrs. Blanche A. Bixby, 74, of 230 East Main street, 
Saranac, will be held at Stone-Kauffman funeral home at 3:30 Tuesday 
afternoon.  She died Saturday afternoon at Ionia County Memorial hospital 
where she had been a patient several days.

She was a resident of Easton township more than 50 years and had celebrated 
her 55th wedding anniversary.  She was born June 18, 1887 in Berlin township 
the daughter of Charles and Mary Doty, and was married in Orleans March 19, 
1906.  She was a member of Saranac community church.

Survivors include her husband, Ray; four daughters, Mrs. Cecil (Jessie) 
Stevens of Wacousta, Mrs. Arthur Jackson of route two, Belding, Mrs. Howard 
Shaeffer of Muir, and Mrs. Merlin Dingman of Durand; nine grandchildren; 13 
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Doty of Belding, and Hubert Doty of 
Ionia; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Howe and Mrs. Ernest Chickering, both of 
route two, Belding, and Mrs. Cora Rogers of Orleans.

Rev. Howard Bull will officiate and burial will be at Easton cemetery.
