He was a longtime resident of Easton township retiring from farming in May 1958 and moved Saranac. He was born in Easton, January 1, 1880, the son of Edward and Lucy Bixby, and was married in 1906 to Blanche Doty. After the death of his wife in 1961, Mr. Bixby resided with his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Jackson. Mr. Bixby attended Dildine school and Ferris institute, now Ferris State college at Big Rapids. He was a former member of Easton church board and after moving to Saranac, attended Saranac Community church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Cecil Stevens of Wacousta, Mrs. Arthur Jackson of rural Belding, Mrs. Howard Sheaffer of Muir, and Mrs. Merlin Dingman of Durand; nine grand and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Edward Foster of Mt. Morris. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home with interment at Easton cemetery.
