Bjork, 74, of 1410 North Cedar N.E., Grand Rapids, died Thursday afternoon at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids after a four day illness. She was born May 30, 1902 in Maywood, Ill., the daughter of Wadell and Ina Fisk. She moved to Grand Rapids in 1914 and attended schools in Chicago and Grand Rapids. She married Joseph Bjork in March, 1920 in Grand Rapids. He preceded her in death, May 12, 1975. They lived on a farm in the Lake Odessa area for 10 years before returning to Grand Rapids in 1949. She attended Plainfield United Methodist church in Grand Rapids and was a member of a senior citizen’s group in Grand Rapids. She is survived by three sons: Vernon of Lake Odessa, Richard of Clarksville and James of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Phillips of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Ina Cole of Stratton, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. One daughter died in 1966. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Clarksville, the Rev. Elwood Norton officiating. Burial is at Rosedale memorial park in Grand Rapids.
