VERNON J. BJORK
Lake Odessa, MI -  Vernon J. Bjork, age 94, of Lake Odessa, passed away April 7,
2016.

Vern was born on December 30, 1921 to Joseph and Dorothy (Fisk) Bjork in Grand
Rapids. Along with being a lifelong farmer that included dairy, chickens and beef cattle at
one time or another, Vern worked at E.W Bliss in Hastings for many years.

He was an avid reader, especially of history and current events and many times would
stay up all night reading when he got into a good book. The family remembers fondly his
playing of the Hawaiian guitar and his love of tractors and antiques.

Vern will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Doris Bjork; his children,
Dennis Bjork Lake Odessa, Barbara Hurless of Hastings, and Nancy (Dave) Reed of
Middleville; his grandchildren, Brenda (Yigit) Hurless-Sensaliver, Brian (Jenna) Hurless, Deanna
(Chuck) Brown, Laura (Rick) McGeehan; his nine great-grandchildren; his two step-great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Dick and Jim Bjork and his sister, Verna
Bjork. Funeral services were held Monday, April 11 at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.

Interment followed at Woodland Memorial Park cemetery. Share memories and
