Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Richard Blackmer (Albert Arthur Longdyke), 78, of Ionia passed away March 1, 
2002 in Hastings.

He was born Dec. 9, 1923 in Danby Township, the son of Albert Arthur Long Dyke 
and Onia Blackmer.  He married Bonnie Adair on Aug. 29, 1953 in Ionia.

He is survived by Bonnie Blackmer of Ionia; daughter, Kathleen (Chris) Walter 
of Lake Odessa; sisters, Martha Miller of Ionia and Myrtle (Alfred) Miller of 
Ionia; grandson, Trevor Walter of Lake Odessa; mother-in-law, Mildred Adair of 
Ionia; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Richard Blackmer will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at 
Hull Memorial Chapel of the Lake Funeral Home in Muir with Rev. Kenneth Harger 
officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., 
Tuesday at the funeral home.
