Blackmer, 93, of Pewamo, died late Tuesday morning at the Ionia Manor where she had been a patient the past four years. Born in Missouri October 17, 1880, she was the daughter of Alfred and Alice Crose MacFarland. For several years she lived at Phoenix, Ariz., before moving to Michigan. She was married to William Blackmer June 5, 1902, and they made their home on a farm near Pewamo. he died October of 1934 and she continued to live on the family farm. A member of the Pewamo United Methodist church she was also a gold star mother. She was a life member of the Pewamo Eastern Star and its past matron and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Among her survivors are a son, James Blackmer of Wyoming, Pa., two daughters, Mrs. June Youngs of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Alyce Schafer of Ionia; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Lloyd Walker of LeValley United Methodist church will officiate and interment will be at the Lyons cemetery.
