February 11, 1914.  Mrs. Ann B. Blackmer, widow of the late Jas. A. Blackmer, 
died at the home of her eldest son, Wm. C. Blackmer, near Pewamo, February 
11th, and was buried in the Lyons cemetery February 14th, following a brief 
home service, conducted by Rev. D. B. Davidson.

The subject of this notice was the youngest daughter of Nathan and Frances 
Douglas, in a family of nine children, and was the last surviving member of 
the family.  Deceased was born at Troy, Michigan March 21, 1844.  She was 
married to James A. Blackmer, of Pewamo, August 22, 1864.  She united with the 
Baptist church at Pewamo, by letter, June 23rd, 1865  She was clerk of the 
church for nineteen years, an office she held at the time of her death.  She, 
and her husband who died last June, have for years been active in Baptist 
church affairs.  

She leaves to mourn their loss four children, William, Ora, and Mrs. Jay 
Townsend of Pewamo and Mrs. Eugene Vance of Lyons; and eleven grandchildren, 
besides two daughters-in-law and many more distant relatives and a host of 
friends.  

Mrs. A. E. Bradt and Mrs. W. A. Grant furnished the music.  The sons and sons-
in-law were bearers.  The floral offerings were many and beautiful, and bore 
silent evidence to the esteem in which the deceased was held.  The following 
relatives from out of town were here to attend the funeral; Howard L. Collins 
and daughter Marion of Eaton Rapids, Newton E. Douglas of Smyrna, and Ezra 
Blackmer of Carson City.
