Blackmore, 73, died at his home, 422 West Washington Street, Wednesday afternoon following a long illness. He has been an invalid and had been confined to his home for about five years and was taken seriously ill a week ago. He was born in St. Johns, November 1, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Blackmore. He had resided in Ionia for many years and was employed for several years as city watchman and later at the car shops and the Michigan reformatory. He is survived by the widow and one daughter, Ms. Georgia K. Blackmore at home. A private prayer service will be held from the home, 422 West Washington Street Friday afternoon. The body will be taken to the Highland Park mausoleum and burial will be made later. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
