Friday, Oct. 1962 Charles S. Blades, 73, former Ionia barber, died Friday morning at Ingham County Medical hospital in Lansing. He was born December 6, 1889 in Indiana and had been a barber 52 years and had lived in Lansing about four years. Mr. Blades was a veteran of World War I and a life member at Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving are his wife, Bernice; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Allen of Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Ley of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Myers funeral home with the Rev. John Bullock of Lansing officiating. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
