She was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Greenville, to George Clifford and Elizabeth Josephine Musser Mangus. She was raised in Belding and graduated from Belding High School. Her many hobbies included crochet, knitting, reading crossword puzzles, bingo and she loved working with flowers. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Floyd “Spike” Mangus, in 1987. Ruth is survived by four sons and daughter, William Blair, Patrick and Laurie Blair, all of Belding, Donald and Linda Blair of Lakeview, Laura Phenix of Palo, Raymond and Tracee Blair of Big Rapids; two sisters, Betty Lafferty of Florida, Nancy Austin of Greenville; two brothers, Lloyd Mangus, Larry Mangus; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Wesley, Joshua, Jessica, Jeremy, Christopher “Max,” Elliott; three stepgrandchildren, Jarrod, Helen, Mark; and great-grandchild, Dylan. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Huffman-Brigham Funeral Chapel, Belding, with Pastor Dale Murray officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
