The Ionia Standard, Thursday, October 3, 1878
The funeral of J. O. Blanchard, of Easton, who was killed last week by a roof 
falling on him during the terrible windstorm, occurred on the 27th inst.  The 
services were held at his late residence, Rev. J. Donnelly, of this city, 
preaching the sermon.  A very large concourse of people were present, and an 
immense procession followed the remains to the grave.
