The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, January 6, 1944
Funeral services for John L. Blanchard, 86, lifelong resident of Ionia county, 
who died Tuesday evening at his home, 126 W. Main Street, will be held Friday 
afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Myers funeral home.  Burial will be in the 
family lot in Orleans cemetery.

Mr. Blanchard was born January 31, 1857 in Orleans, and had spent his entire 
life in Orleans and Ionia.  He is survived by two sons, Roy Blanchard and Earl 
Blanchard, of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Blanchard Brock, also of 
Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Kertz of Nonon, Montana, and Mrs. Della 
Pitt, of Lakewood, Ohio.
