Portland Observer, 18 Nov 1903

Elmer Blanchard died at his home in Danby township on Wednesday morning last, 
aged 50 years.  Consumption, with which he had suffered several years, was the 
cause of his death.  He is survived by widow and two children.  Funeral services 
were conducted from Sebewa U. B. church last Friday forenoon.  Mr. Blanchard had 
resided for several years in the vicinity where he died and The Observer has yet 
to hear of one neighbor or acquaintance who does not speak in the highest terms 
of his character as a man, husband, father and friend.
