Mr. Blasen had been in poor health for a number of years and about two years ago was very nearly killed when a Pere Marquette passenger train struck him at the crossing just south of Smyrna. His funeral was held on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s Catholic church, Miriam, Rev. Fr. John A. Klich officiating and burial was in the cemetery there. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Irene, a brother, Theodore, of this city and a sister, Mrs. Josephine Shindorf of Miriam.
