The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, February 2, 1917
A telegram was received this morning from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 
announcing the death of Joe Blasen, a son of John Blasen of this city.  The 
remains will probably be shipped here for burial.  No further particulars were 
given.

Subsequent Publication:  Monday, February 5, 1917

The remains of Joe Blasen arrived at noon from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and 
were taken to the home of his father, John Blasen.  Funeral services will be 
held Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at the Church of SS Peter & Paul.
