Bernice Hattie Blaszczak, age 89, of Saranac formerly of Detroit and Canton 
passed away Feb. 15, 2009 in Boston Two.  She was born April 30 1919 in Wayne 
County the daughter of Frank and Angeline (Jasczynski) Jendrzejewski.  Bernice 
married Stanley C. Blaszczak at St. Stanislaus in Detroit May 3, 1941.  He 
preceded her in death Feb. 12, 2003.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s 
Catholic Church  in Saranac and St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Canton.

Bernice is survived by her children, Arlene (Robert) Spalding of Saranac and 
Michael (Joellen) Blaszczak of W. Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Irene Przekora of 
Howell; loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and 
nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. 
Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saranac with Father Phil Shangraw celebrant.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of 
service at the church.  Interment Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, 10 a.m. at St. John Neuman 
Catholic Church in Canton.  The family will receive friends and relatives 10 
a.m. until time of service at the church.

Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions in Bernice’s name to Susan G. 
Komen for the Cure or St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or West Michigan Hospice.
