The Ionia Daily Standard, Wednesday, March 6, 1901


The funeral for Phebe Blauvelt was held at the late residence, yesterday 
forenoon at 10 o’clock.  The remains were followed to Woodard Lake cemetery by 
relatives and a few intimate friends.  Though the day was very disagreeable, 
the Lady Maccabees and others were much in evidence; the tokens of esteem and 
remembrance from Ruggles Hive and the “Sentinel Force” were very beautiful and 
much appreciated.  The services were spiritualistic, Mrs. Dunham, a prominent 
local medium, officiating.
