Fred Roger Bletz age 56, of Saranac passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 4, 2005 
in Saranac.  He was born August 27, 1948 in New Jersey the son of George W. and 
Pearl (Kissel) Bletz.  He married Kathryn Zaremba on June 7, 1975 in Grand 
Rapids.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, 1st Battalion 9th Marines of the Walking 
Dead where he received two Purple Hearts.  Fred was a life member of VFW of 
Ionia and State Director of Rolling Thunder in Michigan.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Bletz of Saranac; son Zachary Bletz; 
daughter Heather Bletz; brother Bruce and wife Betty Bletz of Louisiana; sister 
Sally and husband Frank Pelliter of New York, sister Ruth Bletz of New York and 
several nieces and nephews.

Fred’s sense of humor and laughter will be remembered by his family and 
friends.  Funeral services will be held 6 p.m., Monday, at Gallilee Baptist 
Church.  The family will receive friends and relatives Monday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 
at the church.  Family is being served by Lake Funeral Home of Saranac.
