The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, November 1, 1957

Mrs. Martha Louise Bliss, 77, of Lake Odessa, died unexpectedly Thursday, 
October 31 at Pennock hospital, Hastings, where she had been a patient five 
days.  

Born Martha Louise Eddy, July 6, 1880 in Saranac, she was a daughter of Elmer 
and Jane Eddy and attended Hartwell school.  She resided in Saranac until her 
marriage October 1, 1901 to Frank Bliss Sr. when they moved to Odessa township.

Surviving are a son, Frank Bliss of Lake Odessa and three brothers, Lewis Eddy 
of Ionia, Howard Eddy of Saranac and Robert Eddy of Traverse City.  Preceding 
her in death were her husband Frank, November 4, 1927, two sisters, Lillian 
Lehrkind of Water Town, Wis., and Nellie Hull of Bruce Crossing, Mich. and two 
brothers, Thomas Eddy and John Eddy of Saranac.

The body is at the Beattie funeral home in Clarksville, where funeral services 
will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
