Ionia Sentinel Standard – 3 October 1968
Robert Lee Bliss, 86 of route 1, Ronald Township, died Thursday morning at a 
Belding nursing home where he had been a patient several weeks.  Born in 
Odessa Township, August 19, 1882, he was the son of Frank and Emma Bartlett 
Bliss.  He was married to Daisy Mitchell and they have lived at their Ronald 
township home since 1941.  He was a member of First Christian church of Ionia 
and was active in the church choir a number of years.

Surviving are his wife Daisy and two daughters, Mrs. Claude Strickling of 
Ionia and Mrs. Maxine Simmons of Belding.  Funeral services will be Saturday 
at 2 pm at First Christian church with Rev. Theodore Forbes officiating.  
Interment will be at Palo cemetery.  Mr. Bliss will be at the Stone-Kauffman 
funeral home until noon Saturday.
