The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, November 7, 1927

Funeral services for Frank A. Bliss, age 86 years, 10 months, who died Friday 
in Lake Odessa, were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home, with Rev. W. 
L. Halladay, of Saranac officiating.  Mrs. Emma Hay and Mrs. Mae McKay 
furnished the music.  Interment was made in the Saranac cemetery.

Mr. Bliss was born December 22, 1840 in Era County, New York, and came to 
Michigan when a small boy.  In 1869 he married Emma Bartlett of Ionia.  To 
this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters.  Mrs. Bliss 
died May 14, 1900 and he married Miss Louise Eddy, of Saranac, in 1901.  There 
was one son, F. A. Bliss, who lived at home.  Mr. Bliss lived on his farm in 
Berlin from 1872 to 1883, when he moved to Odessa township and then to Lake 
Odessa.  

He leaves two sons, Robert L. of Ionia and J. J. Bliss, of Clarksville; one 
daughter, Mrs. Frankie Hibbard of Lansing; eight grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
