Ethel M. Bliss, 82, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2004 at 
United Memorial Health Center, Greenville.  She was born December 22, 1921 in 
Easton Township, Ionia County, the daughter of Charles and Cora Doty Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Bliss, on June 23, 1984; two 
great-grandchildren, Chance King and William Bliss; and three brothers and five 
sisters.  She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Peter 
Riemersma of Wyoming, Michigan, Rosemary Kalinowski and Victor Swanson of Cedar 
Springs, Joan and Joe White of Gown; sons, Wayne R. of Las Vegas, James E. of 
Greenville; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ora Rogers 
and brother-in-law and his wife, Merlin and Fern Bliss, all of Belding.

Funeral and committal services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Home, 
Greenville, with Pastor Harry Johnson officiating.  Burial is in Rest Haven 
Memory Gardens.  Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.  
Memorial contributions may be made in Ethel’s name to the Flat River Historical 
Society.
