She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband Harry Halvor. Mary Lou was born in her home in Clarksville, Michigan, on Dec. 26, 1938 to Willard and Geraldine Taylor. She had an older brother and two older sisters. Mary Lou attended high school in Lake Odessa and worked as a payroll clerk upon graduation. She met Harry Bliss Jr. in Ionia in 1960 and it was love at first sight. They were married six months later on June 11 in the Presbyterian Church in Ionia. Harry was beginning his profession as an optometrist in Ionia. Harry (Hal) and Mary Lou had two daughters, Judith Allison Bliss, and Amy Elizabeth Bliss-Miller (Nathan Bliss-Miller) as well as four grandchildren: Hannah Bliss Rogers, Taylor Elizabeth Rogers, Soren Halvor Bliss-Miller and Lars Christian Bliss-Miller. Mary Lou was a feisty, determined woman with a strong devotion to her husband and family. She was a steady, loving presence and she loved to laugh and entertain friends. She and Hal enjoyed wonderful travel opportunities after Hal retired. She was always a favorite of every caregiver she had in the last years as she maintained her sense of humor until the end.
