Clarksville Record, 24 May 1900

Mrs. Emma Bliss, whose serious illness was mentioned in last week’s items, died 
last Friday at 5 o’clock a.m.  She leaves five children, Mrs. Fannie Phillips, 
Mrs. Jessie Emmons, Bert, John and Robert Bliss, to mourn her loss.  She had 
hosts of friends which she had won for herself by her kind disposition and sweet 
Christian example.  She will be greatly missed and long remembered.  Funeral 
services were held at Ionia last Sunday.
